Inspired by Mercado de Jamaica in Mexico City, Cordero Atelier developed a proposal in which flowers, vegetables, and gastronomy transform the space into a contemporary interpretation of the market as a place of gathering, exchange, and celebration.
Scope: Creative direction, experience design, spatial design, botanical scenography, food and beverage design, talent curation, uniform design, location scouting, and guest experience.
Four hundred and eighty meters of purple potato garlands accompany a journey where flowers, vegetables, and gastronomy come together in a single artistic installation.
The way flowers, fruits, and vegetables are displayed in Mexican markets transforms everyday produce into artistic compositions. Building on this premise, the proposal reimagines the market through a sequence of botanical sculptures and gastronomic pedestals, where ingredients become sculptural pieces on display.
Rather than treating food as an isolated element, every bite forms part of a single composition. Fire, clay, corn, and seasonal vegetables create a narrative dedicated to the richness of Mexican cuisine, inviting guests to discover the country through its flavors, textures, and colors.
